Description

The primary responsibility of the Audio Engineer / A1 is integrating audio sources to create a high quality mix live. They may also assist with work calls and troubleshoot various issues associated with indoor theatrical productions. The A1 will also be the primary source in teaching swings to mix the shows.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Ability to program and operate Yamaha CL3 console
  • Ability to collaborate with the audio team while mixing a show
  • Works well in a fast paced and high pressure environment
  • Must be able to run short distances and use stairs
  • Must be able to stand for the length of a show
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs
  • Basic soldering and cable repair skills

BONUS QUALIFICATIONS

  • 2-3 years of professional work experience in a live theatrical environment as an audio engineer or equivalent educational experience
  • Skilled knowledge of radio frequencies and Clear-Com Systems

Responsibilities
  • Assist with preshow set up and post show strike responsibilities
  • Communicate directly and effectively with second audio engineer (A2) during run of show regarding microphone and audio system repair requests. This position may also provide direct instructions regarding maintenance or system issues during shows and work calls.
  • Work with performers and staff in a positive and professional manner at all times
  • Maintain flexible schedule for work calls and emergency rehearsals
  • Adhere to and promote all Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and maintain a safe work environment
  • Contribute to the overall success of the Production Department by performing any additional duties and responsibilities assigned
