ABOUT THE ROLE…

Are you passionate about Aircraft Structures with a strong experience in Fatigue & Damage Tolerance and Static Stress?
Are you curious and keen to support technical investigations arising from in-service issues on our A300/A310 fleet of more than 260 in-service aircraft with over 20 operators?
Are you motivated by taking an active role in a variety of projects and investigations, -including A300/A310 digitalisation, sustainability and spare obsolescence management to name a few- in order to support the next 15+ years of operation with our key Freighter customers (UPS, Fedex, DHL) as well as unique operators (Zero-G, A310 MRTT, Beluga ST, Passengers and PAX to Freighter operators)?
Are you familiar with Airbus Fatigue & Damage Tolerance processes and tools, but also open minded to develop new skills such as static stress and support to continued airworthiness?
If that is the case, we have an exciting opportunity for you as the Senior F&DT engineer, part of the A300/A310 Wing Structures Engineering team. This is a unique prospect to join a dynamic and diverse team working on Engineering tasks, as part of Customer Services Organisation, focused on delivering the best value for our customers.
Your primary role will be to support the A300/A310 Chief Engineers Office and ultimately the in-service fleet, reacting to operators’ requests & queries, as well as leading In-service occurrences, investigations and supporting modifications and improvement projects.
As the Senior F&DT Engineer you will be responsible for providing leadership and delivery of approved design data in line with valid methods, processes and tools to the A300/A310 programme, in Time, Cost and Quality. You will be working closely with and providing strong guidance and leadership to the rest of the A300/A310 Wing Structures Design Office and sub-contract agencies. You will also show a strong collaboration mindset, working with a variety of stakeholders including Airworthiness, Repair and Maintenance Engineering.
You will have the opportunity to be involved in many different activities, to support the development of your technical and leadership skills. You will also have the opportunity to work on other Airbus Programmes such as A320, A330 and A380

YOUR MAIN TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:

  • Be the Focal point for any A300/A310 F&DT and Static Stress queries and support answers to operators queries and airworthiness authorities for specific tasks, using your pragmatism and engineering judgement when required.
  • Scope and provide technical guidance and management of F&DT activities, undertaken internally or subcontracted.
  • Be familiar with and update as required F&DT Calculations / Justification reports as a result of in-service queries, investigations, airworthiness requirement evolution or improvement initiatives.
  • Develop towards gaining delegated approval and authorisation signatory for A300/A310 Wing F&DT and ultimately act when necessary as Approval and Authorisation signatory.
  • Lead In-service Continued
  • Lead In-service Continued Airworthiness investigations.
  • Ensure consistency of approach with other Programmes as well as other A300/A310 Stress teams in France and Germany.
  • Report critical technical issues to Chief Engineers Office
