JOB SUMMARY Conduct one-to-one behavior therapy with children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorders, behavioral problems, or other related developmental disorders. Implement highly structured treatment programs created by the Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) to meet specific needs of each patient.  Support the mission and vision of the ASKC at the American University of Beirut Medical Center (AUBMC).   ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS * Greet, receive, and create a positive experience for every patient/family by demonstrating a professional, caring, empathetic and friendly approach following the service excellence standards and guidelines. * Conduct one-to-one sessions with patients, in their homes or schools, providing applied behavior analysis services under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), which include direct instruction with the child as well as natural environment teaching. * Follow behavior plan and individualized treatment plan as designed by BCBA to teach patients to acquire their targeted skills. Complete daily data collection in a detailed, timely, accurate and consistent manner. * Use the principles of behavior analysis to help patients improve across various areas, such as language, social, play, academic skills, self-help, and functional life skills, while helping to reduce interfering and undesirable behaviors and increase desirable and functional behavior. * Attend and participate in monthly team meetings for each patient with the family and the BCBA while maintaining confidentiality about clients and their families. Assist in providing ideas to parents for creating instructional materials.  * Conduct ABA school/home visits to observe the child with the shadow teacher. Train shadow teachers on ABA practices.  * Evaluate the treatment program effectiveness and, together with the BCBA, make any necessary modifications to help patients learn behaviors and new skills more effectively. * Provide input on any novel behaviors that may arise and hinder the implementation of treatment programs. * Participate in staff training programs to ensure the delivery of high-quality care to patients. * Perform other related duties as required by direct supervisor.   CRITICAL COMPETENCIES: Client Focus - Communication Skills - Initiative - Problem Solving - Planning & Organizing - Ethical Practice - Computer Skills   KNOLWEDGE / KNOW HOW Knowledge: Familiarity with children with special needs, preferably autism spectrum disorders. Education: Minimum Education: Bachelor's Degree in Psychology or Special Education.Preferred education: Registered Behavior Technician certification or equivalent international certification.  Experience: 3 - 5 years of experience in working with children with autism spectrum disorders using ABA (Applied Behavioral Analysis) principles Languages: Minimum Languages: Arabic and English (EEE >/= 32). Preferred Languages: French is an asset. Computer Skills:  Proficient in Microsoft Office.
