Reporting to the Senior Project Coordinator, but with a day-to-day responsibility to the on-site Head Of Audio, as System Technician Audio you will work with all departments to ensure the smooth running of the show and the overall upkeep of the audio system. The show is very complex across all disciplines; therefore, you will be able to work calmly under extreme pressure.
Experience with some or all of the existing technical disciplines used on the show is essential. Onsite training will be supplied where knowledge of technology is missing. Remote support is available also.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS / EXPERIENCE:

  • Have a very good working knowledge of all the audio system with specific focus on the control equipment

LEVEL OF EDUCATION:

  • Educated to degree level (or equivalent) or proven work experience
  • Industry accepted qualifications or third-party training

WORK EXPERIENCE:

  • Have at least 2 years of proven work experience within the live events industry

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Right to Work and Remain in the UK
  • Ability to travel throughout the UK including overnight stays as required.
Responsibilities
  • Maintain the System Design under guidance from the designer and Solotech project staff.
  • Ensure that Solotech equipment and standards are respected (cables, connectors, packaging, etc.).
  • Create maintenance schedules and work with the Solotech team to implement.
  • Where needed assist with other Solotech on-site departments.
  • Lead upkeep of concourse system (Qlab/QSys) along with the audio team.
  • Create and maintain the systems plot keeping paperwork up to date when any system changes are made.
  • Communicate effectively with the show-running team to efficiently problem solve throughout the show.
  • Operate the FOH console adhering to the guidance set by the audio design team.
  • Operate the Monitor console adhering to the guidance set by the audio design team and the Monitor Engineer.
  • Follow Solotech’s communication protocols utilising the online systems such as MS Teams to make sure information is shared effectively.
  • Report breakages and liaise with Solotech project Managers over running repairs
  • Always represent Solotech to the highest standard, respecting that your primary place of work will be at the client’s premises.
  • Learn from and teach the other members of the Solotech team so that general knowledge of entire show is shared. With particular responsibility for the system plot.
  • Collaborate with all internal departments to ensure a high level of customer service.
  • Liaise with the Dark Day technicians to integrate projects across the department.
  • Any other reasonable ad-hoc requests as required by your manager.
