  Job Description: Affirmative Business Enterprise Crew Leader   We develop the skill sets of marginalized people – giving them purpose, autonomy, and hope – leaving the world better than we found it.      Department:      Affirmative Business Enterprise (ABE) Reports to:        Director of ABE and ABE Manager FSLA:                    Non-Exempt, Full time Date Revised:    March 2026      The Crew Leader plays a key role in ensuring production success by leading team members, managing workflow, and ensuring customer satisfaction. The Crew Leader works alongside employees and interns to model professionalism, provide clear guidance, and support production goals. This role also includes operating a forklift, driving the box truck for deliveries, and serving as the acting supervisor when the departmental supervisor or manager is unavailable.   Job Responsibilities & Performance Standards Supervise Production Associates and Interns. * Provide daily supervision, ensuring team members are present and engaged in appropriate activities. * Track attendance, schedules, and productivity data. * Serve as a positive role model while building strong professional relationships. * Assist with assessments and evaluations * Ability to mentor/ coach employees and interns to reach their highest vocational potential * Report writing (incidents, accidents, coaching forms, etc.)   Deliver Excellent Customer Service. * Complete production work urgently, accurately, and efficiently. * Build positive relationships with customers through proactive communication. * Shipping and receiving with FedEx, UPS, USPS, DHL, Amazon, etc.   Support Intern and Associate Development. * Maintain consumer and employee confidentiality and refer concerns to appropriate supervisors. * Participate in staff development training to stay current with best practices.   Ensure Safe and Efficient Operations. * Oversee facility safety, equipment maintenance, and cleanliness. * Ensure department area is swept and mopped, and walls are wiped down regularly. * Conduct daily safety inspections and report concerns promptly. * Participate in department-specific drills, L10s, departmental meetings, and safety meetings.   Operate Forklift and Manage Shipping/Receiving. * Operate the forklift safely and efficiently. * Conduct daily forklift inspections and submit documentation weekly. * Ensure customer shipping and receiving needs are met efficiently. * Assist with forklift training as needed.     Drive Box Truck for Deliveries. * Safely operate the box truck to deliver orders to customers and vendors. * Conduct vehicle Inspections. * Follow established routes, maintain delivery logs, and report any vehicle concerns. * Maintain a positive image by delivering excellent customer service during deliveries.   Communicate Clearly and Proactively. * Share relevant information with management promptly. * Provide recommendations for program or policy improvements. * Assist supervisors in assigning coverage duties when individuals are absent. * Assume other duties or responsibilities as requested.   Qualifications * High School Diploma or GED * One year of experience in production and/or warehouse. * Strong communication and multitasking skills. * Ability to adapt to changing duties based on team needs. * Forklift certification (Workshops Empowerment Inc. can provide training if needed). * Ability to accurately operate counting scales and perform simple math. * Computer skills required (Outlook, Word, Excel, Microsoft Suites, etc.). * Experience working with individuals living with disabilities or barriers. * Valid Driver’s License. * Must demonstrate reading and comprehension skills at a minimum fifth‑grade level.   Physical Demands & Working Conditions * Frequent standing, bending, reaching, and lifting up to 100 lbs. * Regular entry into and exit from the truck cab and bed. * Routine loading and unloading of the box truck. * Manual dexterity is needed to operate equipment such as calculators, scales, and computers. * Ability to work under stressful conditions and interact professionally with diverse individuals. * Work is performed in a warehouse environment with exposure to noise and moving equipment.   Benefits of Working at Workshops, Inc.
