Responsibilities

THE ROLE

This important position builds bridges between Aboriginal families, communities and our allied health team. As the Aboriginal Community Liaison, you will walk alongside clients and clinicians to ensure services are culturally safe, respectful and responsive. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Build trusting relationships with Aboriginal families and communities
  • Act as a cultural bridge between families and clinicians
  • Support Aboriginal clients to understand and access the NDIS
  • Co-design culturally safe programs and resources
  • Provide cultural advice and support to clinicians
  • Help coordinate and participate in community events such as NAIDOC and Reconciliation Week
  • Contribute to service development, policy and reflective practice
