Be part of a team committed to enhancing social, cultural and emotional wellbeing for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people in Melbourne’s Eastern Region, who present with complex or long-standing mental health issues. As an Aboriginal Health Worker, you will: Collaborate with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people, using a culturally safe and responsive recovery framework Work in partnership with the community, families, and services to identify wellbeing goals Provide intake, assessment, referrals and psychosocial support for clients Maintain an active caseload and monitor young people, including follow-up for non-attendance Participate in team meetings, clinical reviews, and professional development Collaborate to identify and address gaps in service provision Document all client contacts and maintain accurate records About you To succeed in this role, you will draw on your lived experience as an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person, bringing cultural knowledge and understanding to your work with young people, families, and communities. You will have: Minimum Certificate IV in youth work, mental health, alcohol and other drugs, or a related field Experience in working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities in a culturally safe and inclusive way Skills to collaborate effectively with young people, families, colleagues, stakeholders, and other service providers Knowledge of risk assessment and safety planning procedures Ability to integrate knowledge that enhances Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health objectives Ability to identify gaps in service provision and address needs proactively Current state-based driver’s licence What’s in it for you At Each you’ll be supported to be your best.
