Description Abrasives Pump Operator Operate, maintain and repair high pressure water pump and hydraulic and mechanical systems for White Fleet Abandonment abrasive cutting systems. Duties & Responsibilities: Responsible for operating and maintaining high pressure water pump. Set up and test abrasive cutting systems. Maintain and repair hydraulic and mechanical equipment. Perform rigging and lifting operations associated with setup and deployment of abrasive system. Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals. Qualifications: Required: High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED). Three (3) to Five (5) years' work-related experience or Twelve (12) months of mechanical or hydraulic training, to include on the job training. Must have basic knowledge tools and equipment to perform maintenance and repairs. Desired: HUET Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics: Knowledge of appropriate steps to analytical problem solving. Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships. Additional Information: Working Conditions This position is considered OFFSHORE WORK which is characterized as follows. Outdoors and indoors, day and night, as well as over/near water. Requires working on or near moving equipment and vibrating equipment. Frequently high humidity and high noise. Potential exposure to open fire/flames/sparks. Exposure to airborne dust, fumes, and gases. Physical Activity/Requirements Lift 25-50 pounds Wear PPE. Climb stairs/ladders, stand, balance, stoop, squat, reach, and lift/carry objects Twist body, sit with back supported, head forward/flexed, head tilted/rotated, and work with arms extended overhead. Work with arms extended below the waist, unsupported, elbows flexed, wrist supported and unsupported.
