AC TECHNICIAN

• Key Responsibilities:
  Installation: Installing new air conditioning units and systems according to manufacturer specifications and safety standards.
  Maintenance: Conducting regular preventative maintenance to ensure optimal performance and longevity of AC units. This includes cleaning coils, checking refrigerant levels, and inspecting components.
  Troubleshooting and Repair: Diagnosing and repairing malfunctions in AC systems, including electrical, mechanical, and refrigeration components.
  Component Replacement: Replacing faulty parts such as compressors, motors, and control boards.
  System Optimization: Adjusting system settings and controls to maximize efficiency and energy savings.
  Safety Compliance: Adhering to safety protocols and regulations related to working with electrical and refrigerant systems.
  Record Keeping: Maintaining accurate records of maintenance and repair work performed.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

Technical Knowledge: Understanding the fundamentals of air conditioning systems, refrigeration, and electrical components.
Diagnostic Skills: Ability to identify and troubleshoot issues with various types of AC systems.
Repair Skills: Proficiency in repairing or replacing faulty components and performing necessary system adjustments.
Preventative Maintenance Skills: Knowledge of preventative maintenance procedures for AC systems.
Customer Service Skills: Ability to communicate effectively with customers and provide recommendations for repairs or system upgrades.
Safety Awareness: Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures related to HVAC systems.
Relevant Certifications: EPA certification (for handling refrigerants) and other relevant certifications in HVAC or refrigeration.
