Job Responsibilities Works with an assigned group of students to help them plan their schedules, comply with academic regulations and policies, and ensure a timely graduation. Monitors academic progress of assigned students and provides coaching and advice as warranted. Leverages university’s enrollment management technology platforms to generate reports on student progress, course needs, and student retention programs as requested. Enters data in platforms as assigned. Maintains a detailed understanding of degree requirements and university academic regulations. Prepares and submits weekly, monthly and annual effort reports. Trouble shoots general problems and questions concerning CMU and student life. Meets privately with students to review academic progress. Assists students with developing academic schedules and declaring majors, reviewing career options, etc. Provides in depth information concerning course descriptions, instructors, prerequisites, etc. Perform on-line academic audits of student records, checking for declarations of majors, fulfilling of prerequisites, maintenance of required grade average, etc. Produces audit reports. Review records of students facing Academic Actions (i.e., suspension, etc.) Sets up meetings with such students to discuss underlying causes, to propose alternative course of action, etc. Follows up on students involved in Academic Actions. Keeps supervisor informed on all such actions. Refers students with personal, physical or emotional problems to Student Counseling or Health Centers.
