Description

POSITION SUMMARY

We are seeking a dedicated professional—certified teacher, social worker, or paraprofessional—who is passionate about supporting neurodiverse learners. The ideal candidate will foster students’ growth through patience, encouragement, and research-informed strategies while demonstrating strong initiative, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently.
As an academic strategist, you will provide one-to-one virtual support to elementary and secondary (Grades 4–12) students. You will help students develop research-informed writing strategies, strengthen their executive function skills, and leverage assistive technology tools to enhance their learning experience. This role requires a strong working knowledge of academic writing strategies and a thorough understanding of elementary- and secondary-level writing expectations.
Using a holistic approach, the academic strategist will create a nurturing and supportive environment to help students optimize their learning, improve academic performance, and enhance overall well-being. This involves teaching emotional regulation skills, supporting self-reflection, and guiding students in identifying their strengths and overcoming challenges. Specific areas of focus include goal setting, time management, understanding assignments, self-regulation, effective reading, test preparation, and writing skill development.
The successful candidate will be a reliable and professional individual with excellent judgement, initiative, patience, organization, and strong English communication skills. Additionally, a theory of mind and the ability to tailor strategies to meet individual student needs are essential for this role.
