EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

  • Minimum AQF Level 9 (Level 10 preferred) qualification in Early Childhood Education
  • Professional experience in course coordination, academic management and teaching and learning development.
  • Experience in academic management within a higher education environment.
  • Demonstrated experience managing a team, including driving people and culture processes preferred.
  • Demonstrable organisational and planning skills.
  • Knowledge of contemporary developments in the discipline or field, informed by continuing scholarship and/or practice.
  • Skills in contemporary teaching, learning and assessment principles specific to the discipline or field.
  • Experience in course review leading to improved course design and student outcomes.
  • Demonstrated an understanding of requirements associated with regulatory frameworks, especially the Higher Education Standards Framework (Threshold Standards) 2021.
  • IT literacy, particularly Microsoft Office and any learning management systems

Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Academic Coordinator is the primary point of academic contact for the academic team in the School of Education on the Sydney campus. The School of Education offers a range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Early Childhood Education. The role is responsible for maintaining high quality teaching and learning in the courses delivered by the School. This includes oversight of teaching and learning quality, scholarly activity and professional development, benchmarking and moderation, teaching and marking allocation, academic integrity and misconduct, student engagement and academic progression.
The Academic Coordinator will also be involved in coordination and administrative tasks and develop and maintain positive relationships with all stakeholders to ensure a smooth and cohesive operation
