Position: Academic Dean Reports to: Head of School                                                                                                                                                Position type: Exempt, Full-Time Position Summary:                                                                                                                                          Provide leadership for K-12 faculty by developing an environment to equip teachers to teach students to serve, lead and transform their world to be inspired to follow Jesus. QUALITIES + QUALIFICATIONS Uphold Biblical priorities through a growing personal relationship with Jesus. Become an active member of FB Concord or be an active member of a local like-minded bible teaching church Develop personal evangelism opportunities within & outside the church & school Encompass the qualities and characteristics of Concord staff members as outlined in our Staff Values. Master of Education or Educational Leadership required 5+ years teaching required, 10+ years preferred 3-5+ years in educational leadership preferred Department Chair or Grade Level Lead experience preferred 1stAid/CPR certification preferred – able to obtain upon hire RESPONSIBILITIES Lead school accreditation process (ACSI/Cognia) & maintain annual ACSI paperwork.  Work with lead teachers/dept chairs to oversee the alignment of curriculum for K-12th grades according to TN state standards & in a biblical worldview. Research curriculum trends & provide guidance to teachers & principals. Coordinate with CCP to align curriculum & support a smooth transition from birth through TK/K. Assist Principals with curriculum budgets for each department. Oversee teacher certification through ACSI and state licensing. Oversee Academic Center to provide teachers with instructional  strategies to provide students with multiple paths to success. Point teachers towards Portrait of a LION & how to incorporate ESOs into daily lessons. Develop & implement a 2-year professional development path for new teachers that includes mentorship. Oversee Atlas management & training for all teachers. In partnership with Principals coordinate professional development for all staff. Coordinate Title 2A/4A Professional Development Resources. Become an active part of the emergency response team. Work with Administrative Leadership Team to ensure a dynamic & growing school that is inspiring students, staff & families to follow Jesus. Work to ensure that confidentiality is maintained by faculty & staff as it pertains to student discipline, academic struggles, or staff issues. Participate in other CCS events as assigned or requested by HOS. WORKING CONDITIONS Typically, a 5-day work week in an office environment. Working with various socio-economic groups, ages and nationalities.
