Description
As an Academic Director, you will work directly under the VP Academic to spearhead the coaching and development of the ACE UBC team. This role is highly hands-on, requiring you to assist in preparing slide decks, conducting in-depth case analysis, and running short drills or exercises to sharpen our delegates' skills. Additionally, the Director will train to compete at the ACE Nationals Case Competition and Conference in Toronto (January 2027). Throughout the term, you will develop core business skills by actively participating in weekly training sessions featuring structured lessons, mock competitions, and personalized feedback. \n Time Commitment 2-5 hours per week Term of Employment July 2026-March 2027 Responsibilities Compete and train for the ACE Nationals Case Competition and Conference Attend weekly training sessions, including technical skill workshops, public speaking practice, case preparation, and formal mock competitions Attend ACE Nationals in Toronto in January 2027 Assist in preparing instructional slide decks and doing thorough case analysis to guide team learning Run and lead short drills or speaking exercises to improve delegates' quick thinking and presentation skills Work alongside the VP Academic to design and facilitate weekly training sessions, including technical skill workshops, public speaking practice, and case preparation Qualifications Strong interpersonal skills Strong written and verbal communication skills Excellent organizational and time management abilities Public speaking abilities Eagerness and a curiosity to learn Previous casing experience is highly recommended Previous coaching or mentorship experience is an asset \n Submit the following information by July 18th, 2026 at 11:59 PDT in a single PDF named as Academic_Director_LASTNAME_Firstname.pdf A one-paged resume outlining your most relevant experiences A cover letter describing: Why do you want to be involved in ACE UBC?
