Description

The Department of Biomedicine and The Phenotyping Core Facility at Faculty of Health at Aarhus University invites applications for a position as an academically qualified technician within cardiovascular phenotyping as per 1 October 2025 or as soon as possible thereafter. The position is a time-limited 50% position (18.5 hours/week) ending 31 December 2030. The position is time-limited due to the temporary nature of the tasks, which are primarily related to the commissioning and initial operation of new large-scale equipment for the Phenotyping Core. The position is contingent upon external funding and will end when the project concludes.

Responsibilities

As an academic employee at the core facility your primary tasks are operation and maintenance of phenotyping services and user supervision. You contribute to daily core facility management through user interaction and bookkeeping. In your daily work, you have a close interaction with competent colleagues. Your tasks will include overlooking of a variety of services, as well as guiding and coordinating research protocols.

Your main tasks will consist of:

  • Working with a variety of animal models
  • Maintenance and calibration of equipment for imaging and biological phenotyping
  • Making and writing SOPs and experiment protocols
  • Management of research data
  • Teaching and supervision of researchers at the university and externally using core facility equipment
  • Collaborating with facility staff, research industry, vendors, and other affiliated personnel
  • Performing experimental studies on behalf of the core facility

This is a a half-time position where work hours and days will be negotiated to fit the core facility and employee.
