About the role:

JOB SUMMARY:

CECOS College London is seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to join our team as an Associate Dean. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the Dean/Head of Higher Education in the leadership and management of the North location UK, enhancing the student experience, and driving academic excellence. The individual must be willing to travel to North campus colleges frequently lie London and Birmingham.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

 A PhD or equivalent in a relevant field.
 Significant experience in academic leadership and management within higher education.
 A proven track record of excellence in teaching, research, and administration.
 In-depth knowledge of higher education policies, accreditation, and quality assurance
processes (QAA, OfS, etc.).
 Experience in curriculum design, development, and approval processes.
 Strong leadership experience, particularly in managing change and institutional growth.
 External examining experience at UK universities or higher education providers is desirable.
 A recognized teaching qualification (e.g., Fellowship of Advance HE – FHEA) is desirable.

Responsibilities
  1. Leadership and Management
     Assist the Dean in the strategic planning and operational management of CECOS North
    region.
     Provide leadership to faculty and administrative staff, fostering a collaborative, inclusive,
    and high-performance culture.
     Ensure the effective implementation of institutional policies and governance structures.
     Oversee day-to-day management of academic programs, ensuring smooth operations across North region.
     Act as the primary liaison between CECOS and the partner institution, ensuring strong and effective collaboration.
  2. Academic Quality and Curriculum Development
     Ensure the delivery of high-quality academic programs aligned with institutional and partner university standards.
     Lead the continuous review and development of the curriculum to maintain relevance and academic excellence.
     Promote innovative and student-cantered teaching and learning practices.
     Ensure full compliance with quality assurance and enhancement requirements set by CECOS and partner institutions.
  3. Student Experience and Support
     Enhance student engagement and support mechanisms to foster academic success and well- being.
     Address student concerns in a timely and professional manner, adhering to CECOS policies and procedures.
     Develop and oversee student advisory, mentoring, and support programs to improve
    retention, progression, and overall experience.
     Ensure students and staff fully utilize available learning and institutional resources.
  4. Research, Administration, and Resource Management
     Promote and support faculty research, scholarship, and professional development initiatives.
     Foster a research-active environment, encouraging faculty to publish and disseminate
    research findings.
     Assist in budget preparation and financial management to ensure sustainability and resource optimization.
     Oversee allocation and efficient use of resources, ensuring alignment with institutional
    priorities.
     Contribute to reports, proposals, and institutional documentation as required.
  5. External Relations and Partnerships
     Represent the academic department in external forums, strengthening relationships with
    industry partners, professional bodies, and educational institutions.
     Collaborate with key stakeholders to enhance CECOS’s reputation and academic influence.
     Liaise with the partner institution’s key personnel, including the Link Tutor, ensuring
    alignment with academic standards and expectations.
