JOB SUMMARY

Serve as a member of leadership teams for the Vice President of Research Development and Operations. Responsible for working with schools, colleges, interdisciplinary research institutes (IRIs), and other relevant campus units for strategic and capital planning, policy development/oversight, and coordination for academic and research facilities across campus. Support academic and research sustainability that integrates facilities, resources, and stakeholders at all levels of the institution to support Georgia Tech’s goal of cutting-edge discovery, innovation, and scholarship. Collaborate with schools and campus units in establishing and implementing priorities for existing institutional resources to ensure the highest and best use for existing facilities, space allocation/reallocation, design/construction/renovation of new and existing academic and research facilities, and the purchase and installation of major scientific equipment. This position will interact on a regular basis with: Executive Leadership, academic and research unit leadership, faculty, and staff. This position typically will advise and counsel: Executive Leadership, academic and research unit leadership faculty, and staff. This position will supervise: N/A.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor’s degree in Building Construction, Engineering, Finance, Business, or related field.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

Five to seven years of job-related experience.

PREFERRED EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

Master’s degree in Building Construction, Engineering, Finance, Business, or related field.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

Seven to ten years of job-related experience; prior experience working with higher education and/or a research organization.

ABILITIES

Strong written and oral communication skills. Proven ability to build consensus with leaders across a multifaceted organization.

SKILLS

Experience in planning and execution of design and construction projects from a technical as well as financial and project management perspective with emphasis on renovations of various size.
