Description

Franklin Academy seeks an organized, proactive, and student-centered Academic Support Staff member to join our academic affairs team. This hourly position plays a vital role in supporting day-to-day academic interventions, fostering engagement in coursework, and building executive functioning skills.
The ideal candidate will work closely with faculty, academic advisors, the Director of Student Success, and residential staff to help neurodivergent students—many of whom are college-bound—develop the skills and habits needed for academic success.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

  • Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in education, Human Services, Psychology, or a related field.
  • Experience working with adolescents in academic, tutoring, or mentoring settings.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Comfort and confidence in supporting neurodivergent students.
  • Availability to work one weekend day each week.

Responsibilities
  • Monitor and facilitate study halls to promote effective work habits and on-task behavior.
  • Implement targeted academic interventions to improve engagement, organization, and follow-through.
  • Conduct classroom observations to gather data on student performance and learning behaviors.
  • Track and document student progress through observation, data collection, and regular reports.
  • Support students in developing study strategies, note-taking techniques, and test preparation skills.
  • Provide coaching in executive functioning skills such as time management, task prioritization, and planning.
  • Collaborate with teachers, advisors, student life staff, and the Director of Student Success to ensure consistent academic support across all settings.
  • Encourage self-advocacy and independence in learning.
  • Contribute to an inclusive, supportive academic environment for neurodivergent students.
