POSITION DESCRIPTION:

The College & Athletic Recruiting Counseling / Outplacement Coordinator leads all efforts to guide student-athletes and families through the college recruiting, NCAA eligibility, academic planning, and outplacement process. This role focuses on aligning each student-athlete’s academic schedule, athletic goals, and recruiting strategy to maximize college placement opportunities at the Division I, II, III, NAIA, and preparatory school levels.

OUTPLACEMENT SUPPORT

  • Support student-athletes seeking transfers to boarding schools, preparatory academies, or postgraduate programs that align with their athletic and academic goals.
  • Partner with the Head of School and coaches to recommend next steps for student-athletes requiring specialized placement options.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Education, Counseling, Sports Management, or related field required; Master’s preferred.
  • Experience:
  • 3–5 years in college counseling, athletic recruiting coordination, or athletic administration roles.
  • Deep familiarity with NCAA eligibility requirements, recruiting processes, and athletic scholarship opportunities.
  • Experience working with high school or prep school student-athletes strongly preferred.
  • Skills & Competencies:
  • Strong network of college coaches and recruiting contacts across multiple sports.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with families, coaches, and colleges.
  • Ability to manage large caseloads while meeting deadlines and individual student needs.
  • Proficiency in recruiting and college counseling software (e.g., NCSA, Hudl, Naviance).
