Job Description:
The Accelerated Financial Planning Career Program provides on-the-job training through rotations in multiple departments and involving assignments in Financial Planning Delivery Excellenc e and Financial Planning Advice Connect. In this program, you will have the opportunity to explore a meaningful pathway to build a successful Financial Planning Career. The anticipated duration of this assignment is typically 2.5 years .

In early rotations , you will:

  • Provide high level sales and service support to TD Wealth Financial Planners by providing them with assistance in the three main activities: progress reviews, client contact and business building.
  • Assist Financial Planners in their daily business activities efficiently and effectively to ensure a legendary client experience while adhering to policies and procedures
  • Complete discovery meetings to gather financial information from clients to provide clear agenda, documentation, insights and reports to the Financial Planner in preparation for client meeting s
  • Manage sales pipeline leads and prepare for and/or engage with clients on outbound sales calls (i.e., prospective, retention)
  • Build knowledge of the business, competitive landscape, and economic/market trends and issues.

In final rotations , you will :

  • Provid e financial planning and advice to investors with a focus on retirement and investment planning by assisting clients in meeting their financial goals and objectives, delivering all services via phone and digital technology
  • Coordinate the identification, pursuit, or management of accounts/opportunities with others while taking a primary role in managing the relationship .
  • Assist clients to identify goals and potential barriers, recommend appropriate solutions and provide ongoing relationship management through investment recommendations including third-party mutual funds; open new investing accounts as required
  • Actively acquire external assets through effective financial planning and sales conversations

The goal of th is program is to provide an exception foundation in Financial Planning to transition you into a Financial Planner role , where you will provide comprehensive financial planning and advice to mass affluent clients with a focus on retirement and investment planning by assisting clients in meeting their financial goals and objectives.

Qualifications / Skills / Experience:

  • You will be graduating between 2024-2026 with an undergraduate degree
  • You will be working towards to QAFP™ certification , PFP certification, IQPF certification (Quebec), or CFP® certification.
  • CSC certification is required

  • Excellent communication skills
  • Business, finance, quantitative skills
  • Organizational skills with the ability to prioritize, multi-task and maintain attention to detail
  • Good foundation in business acumen, problem solving skills and analytical capabilities
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Excel, PowerPoint and Word)
  • Experience in financial modeling
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Proactive mindset to take initiative
  • Effective teamwork and collaboration skills Previous customer service experience / understanding of the customer would be an asset.
  • Bilingual in French/English would be an asset , but not required

Specific Educational Requirements / Accreditations:

  • Anticipated completion of undergraduate degree and working towards to QAFP™ certification, PFP certification, IQPF certification (Quebec), or CFP® certification.
  • Canadian Securities Course (CSC) - required, Conduct & Practices Handbook (CPH), and 90 Day Training Program to be completed within first 90 days from start date, required to obtain IIROC Registered Representative (RR) license
