POSITION SUMMARY

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Security Access Control & CCTV Estimator/Engineer to join our security team. This role is a hybrid of technical engineering and project estimation focused on electronic physical security systems. The ideal candidate will have in-depth experience designing, estimating, programming, and troubleshooting modern access control and video surveillance platforms.
This role requires fluency with commercial security systems and the ability to work closely with clients, vendors, and field technicians to ensure seamless project execution from design to handoff.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

· 3+ years of experience in access control and CCTV systems design, installation, or estimation.
· Hands-on expertise programming and troubleshooting security platforms including Openpath, Avigilon, Verkada, Brivo, and similar.
· Understanding of low-voltage wiring standards, IP networking, and system integrations.
· Proficient in reading construction documents and creating take-offs using tools like Bluebeam or AutoCAD.
· Excellent analytical, communication, and customer service skills.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and familiarity with project/estimation tools.
· Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently or as part of a team.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

· Degree or certification in Electronics, Engineering Technology, or related field.
· Manufacturer certifications from Openpath, Avigilon, Verkada, Brivo, etc.
· Familiarity with additional systems such as LenelS2, Genetec, Exacq, or Milestone is a plus.
· Experience with D-Tools is a plus.
· NICET, BICSI, or PSP certification a plus.

Pay: $85,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year

ESTIMATION DUTIES

· Analyze drawings, specifications, RFPs, and site requirements to generate accurate material and labor estimates.
· Prepare detailed cost breakdowns, Bills of Materials (BOMs), and scopes of work for Access Control and CCTV systems.
· Collaborate with vendors to obtain pricing and availability of hardware and software components.
· Support the sales team with technical input and pricing strategies for proposals and bids.
· Maintain and update cost estimating tools and historical pricing data for accuracy.
o Engineering & Technical Duties
· Design integrated access control and surveillance systems in line with client and code requirements.
· Program and configure systems including Openpath, Avigilon, Verkada, Brivo, and other platforms.
· Troubleshoot system issues during installation, commissioning, and post-installation support phases.
· Create and review wiring diagrams, riser drawings, and network layouts.
· Conduct field surveys and technical assessments to inform design and project planning.
· Provide remote or onsite technical support to installation crews and service teams.
