Qualifications:

The required minimal qualifications are as follows:

  • Masters Degree specializing in Special Education or a related relevant field;
  • 2 – 3 years' of relevant experience with adult learners with disabilities, and experience planning and implementing disability related accommodations, (a combination of education and related experience may be considered);
  • Knowledge of disabilities issues, statutory obligations, privacy guidelines, knowledge of adaptive technology and specialty software/hardware and disability related resources;
  • Demonstrable expertise in relevant software (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.) and experience working with data bases;
  • The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, faculty, and other service-providers in order to work collaboratively, resolve problems and spread awareness of disability needs and supports.
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills, organizational skills, interpersonal skills and the ability to multitask; and
  • Hold a current and valid drivers' license.

Preference will be given to those who have:

  • Experience with post-secondary environment and/or working with adult-learners with disabilities; and
  • A proven ability to work positively with a demanding workload, changing priorities, continuous interruptions and to coordinate accommodations within a diverse range of programs.
