SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:

  • Highly motivated professional with a range of industry experience and knowledge
  • Good working knowledge of IT tools (ECDL or equivalent level)

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum GCSE Grade 4 /C or Equivalent Level 2 qualifications in Maths and English
  • Relevant degree and/or appropriate level professional qualifications
  • Level 4 qualification in the relevant area of expertise (or commitment to achieving this in the required timeframe)
  • Level 5 Teaching qualification (or commitment to achieving this in the required timeframe)
Responsibilities
  • Classroom teaching, tutorial work and associated outreach duties, residential, open and distance learning courses and student placements
  • All associated organisational and administrative work, preparation and marking and appropriate student welfare and academic counselling responsibilities;
  • Acting as a Personal Tutor to students as required and undertaking all of the associated duties including pastoral care support.
  • Making a full contribution to the team approach to learning and teaching.
  • Implementing a student-centred negotiated learning programme in accordance with the College’s curriculum framework.
  • Implementing agreed induction procedures and processes for students.
  • Ensuring that students are informed of what is expected of them at every stage of their programme and that an awareness of what the programme involves is a feature of all reviews undertaken with students.
  • Ensuring that appropriate assignments, tasks and activities are regularly set and assessed and that feedback is given to students in ways that will allow them to develop and achieve progression.
  • Contributing to the organisation of and ensure that there are appropriate work placements.
