Piper Companies is hiring an Accessibility Test Engineer for a hybrid long-term contract position with a global technology leader located in San Jose, CA. The Accessibility Test Engineer will perform accessibility testing across desktop, web, and mobile platforms using assistive technologies and established standards to ensure software compliance and improve inclusive design.

QUALIFICATIONS OF THE ACCESSIBILITY TEST ENGINEER:

• Proven experience in software testing and UI usability, with a focus on accessibility.
• Strong understanding of accessibility standards including WCAG, WAI-ARIA, and platform-specific guidelines.
• Familiarity with assistive tools and testing software such as SOATest, ZoomText, JAWS.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to produce clear documentation and reports.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.

• Conduct accessibility testing across desktop (Windows/Mac), web (multiple browsers), and mobile platforms (iOS/Android).
• Apply WCAG 2.1/2.2, Section 508, and EN 301 549 standards to ensure compliance in software design.
• Utilize assistive technologies such as JAWS, NVDA, VoiceOver, and TalkBack during testing and evaluation.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to improve accessible design practices and document findings.
