Our lab is driven by a team of board-certified pathologists who are passionate about delivering cutting-edge diagnostic services. We provide the highest-quality pathology services to physicians, physician groups, ambulatory surgery centers, and hospitals across the region. Enter specimen data into the laboratory information system. Make sure the proper request forms have been used. Make sure the requisition is properly identified with the patient’s full name, DOB, tissue site, date of collection, and physician’s name. Make sure the specimen bottle is properly identified with the patient’s name, tissue site, date of collection, and physician’s name. Make sure the specimen bottle matches the requisition form and that complete demographic and specimen source information is given. If any of the above information is missing, return the specimen and requisition form to the sender with a request for completion, or call the client and request the necessary information for completion. Properly label all specimen bottles and cassettes with the appropriate accession number. Performs transcription and mailing of laboratory business correspondence. Maintenance of the filing systems for laboratory reports, correspondence, and business documents. Maintenance of various logs Handling and directing telephone and other incoming and outgoing laboratory communication as needed. Make sure slides are filed properly. This shall include ensuring proper labels are affixed to slides. Perform other tasks in the laboratory as deemed necessary by the Laboratory Supervisor. Adhere to all Standard Operating Procedures of Sagis. Full Time: Schedule, Monday- Friday Night Shifts: 11:00 pm to 7:30 am Salary: $19.50- $19.50/ hourly Qualifications High school education or equivalent REQUIRED. Good Attention to Detail is REQUIRED. MUST be able to type at least 40 WPM. Demonstrated ability to follow procedures. Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment. Ability to work in a standing position at times. Ability to lift up to 20 pounds. Ability to work late shifts and weekends when necessary. Intermediate knowledge and skills in the operation of computers. Ability to interact well with people and pleasant telephone manners. Ability to work well under direction of the Laboratory Director and others in a supervisory capacity. Office experience, preferably in a medical or other health care setting. Bachelor’s degree in Biology/Chemistry or similar fields required for advancing to other lab positions. Alternate advancement to Medical Billing also possible with appropriate certification.
