Job Description We are seeking an experienced Interior Product Design Engineer to lead the design, development, and release of soft trim and hard trim features and accessories for automotive vehicles. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams and suppliers to deliver high-quality, functional, and manufacturable products on time. The ideal candidate has diverse skills in interior product design, knowledge of materials and manufacturing processes, and experience supporting product launches from concept through production. Key Responsibilities Collaborate with planning and strategy teams to develop new interior feature ideas Conduct initial design and feasibility studies with interior product, vehicle integration, and product design teams Create Source Package documents for new products Support purchasing teams in reviewing technical submissions and selecting suppliers Assist with supplier component development as needed Lead vehicle and component testing based on Design Verification Plans (DVP) Host weekly engineering development meetings with suppliers and internal teams Track and manage project timelines to ensure on-time product launch Manage and track engineering changes for vehicle interior systems and components Apply knowledge of plastic injection-molded parts, manufacturing processes, and material selection (preferred) Apply knowledge of soft trim cut-and-sew materials and processes (preferred) Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field Experience in automotive interior product design and development Strong understanding of vehicle design, materials, and manufacturing processes Excellent communication, coordination, and project management skills Preferred Experience Knowledge of automotive accessories such as all-weather mats, seat covers, cargo storage solutions, and special model badging Hands-on experience with plastic and soft trim interior components Experience supporting product launches from prototype through production Additional Information All your information will be kept confidential according to EEO guidelines.
