ACCESSORY FITTER / COMMS ASSISTANT

Arid Offroad a 4WD business in Central Australia, is seeking an Accessory Fitter / Comms Assistant . Mechanical knowledge preferable but not essential. Working in a clean up to date workshop alongside a small team of motivated personnel.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

• Accessory fitting of specialized items for four-wheel drives (examples - side steps, under vehicle guards, additional spare wheel carriers and long-range fuel tanks, tow bars, bull bars, dual battery systems, driving lights and roof racks etc).
• Installation of communications accessories for motor vehicles (two-way radios/antennas, Satellite and Mobile Telephone Car Kits, tracking devices and electrical accessories).
• Carry out routine maintenance procedures and assist in fault rectification procedures on various equipment (UHF /VHF Base and Mobile radio equipment, Satellite / Mobile Telephones/Car kits, associated PA equipment, Power supplies etc). This may be at a client’s facility or in our workshop.
• Small fabrication projects “to make things fit”.
• Assist with comms work intown and remote bush work when required.
• Assist with repairs of comms equipment in the service department.
• Other duties typical of which you may be called upon to carry out within our company to assist in maintaining a team environment/workplace.

THE ROLE

We have an opportunity for a Accessory Fitter / Comms Assistant to join our dynamic team located in Alice Springs. You will report directly to our Workshop Supervisor and will be responsible for fitting accessories to recreational, trade and fleet vehicles.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Carry out the fitment of a wide range of Automotive Accessories to a high standard of quality control.
• Ensure all work is carried out in a timely manner.
• Strong Customer Service ethic.
