Responsibilities
  • Manage the Accommodation department’s operations efficiently, ensuring strict hygiene standards across all areas of accommodation, including guest rooms, public areas, bathrooms, and meeting facilities.
  • Ensure that all departmental standards are consistently met or exceeded, with a strong focus on service and cleanliness.
  • Perform regular inspections to ensure high standards of cleanliness are maintained throughout the hotel.
  • Log issues and follow up on necessary repairs or cleaning through the proper channels.
  • Ensure all daily checklists for bathrooms and dance floors are completed accurately and on time.
  • Lead, motivate, and support a large team of supervisors, accommodation assistants, and public area attendants.
  • Promote a positive workplace environment by supporting employee engagement initiatives.
  • Ensure each employee receives probationary reviews, annual appraisals, and regular check-ins.
  • Ensure new employees are correctly onboarded, completing hotel induction, manual handling training, and departmental induction.
  • Conduct regular training with the team to ensure adherence to standards.
  • Assess guest feedback and make adjustments as necessary to elevate the guest experience.
  • Oversee the ordering and management of all linens to maintain accurate stock levels.
  • Managing the distribution of cleaning chemicals throughout the hotel, ensuring proper storage and usage in line with safety standards.
  • Ensure seamless coordination of room assignments, guest requests, and special requirements.
  • Work closely with other departments (such as Reception and Hotel Porters) to ensure the efficient operation of the hotel and enhance the guest experience.
  • Ensure that the department meets its budgeted targets, including wage costs and resource usage, by managing staffing levels and resources.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation of staff changing rooms, ensuring that these spaces remain tidy, hygienic, and pleasant for staff use.
  • Implement a deep cleaning agenda for all rooms and public areas.
  • Oversee health and safety within the Accommodation department and broader housekeeping tasks, ensuring compliance with hotel standards and regulatory requirements.
