JOB SUMMARY

Provide accompaniment for classes, student performances, audition and/or special events. These performances include, but are not limited to master classes, choral groups, soloist, juries, recitals, and dance technique courses.

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES

• Knowledge of fundamentals of harmony; and skill in playing one or more musical instruments as accompanist.
• Ability to select appropriate dance music; ability to compose or improvise music, ability to coach performing artists; ability to transcribe music from recordings.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Special training or coursework that would facilitate composing and improvising music and/or coaching and accompanying and experience which has led to a thorough familiarity with accompanying choral groups and soloists (instrumental and vocal) or interpretive dances is required.
• Ability to sight read music scores preferred.

• Provide accompaniment for instrumental/choral student ensemble performances and rehearsals.
• Provide accompaniment for specialized music classes.
• Provide accompaniment for new student auditions, scholarship auditions and other special events.
