Description Job Title: Accounting Clerk Position Title Accounting Clerk Reports to: Chief Financial Officer Type: This is a full-time, on premises, Monday through Friday - 8AM to 5 PM position. Location – 6983 Hillsdale Court, Indianapolis Job Summary: Position Overview The Accounting Clerk supports the organization’s finance operations by performing a variety of clerical and accounting tasks with a strong focus on accounts payable, payroll support, data entry, reconciliation, and general accounting duties Job Duties: Accounts Payable · Enter vendor bills, recurring payments, employee reimbursements, and patient refunds in JWM accounting platforms. · Ensure accurate general ledger coding. · Assist with cash flow and vendor payments. · Maintain vendor records including W-9s · General Ledger interfaces and reconciliations between accounting firms and JWM. · Vendor communication. Payroll Support · Assist with payroll processing using JWM payroll platform. · Produce payroll reports as needed. · Support year-end payroll activities. · Communicate with employees and payroll platform support team. General Accounting & Administrative Support · Post cash receipts and other journal entries on an accounting platform. · Perform bank account entries. · Perform corporate credit card reconciliation. · Order office supplies. · Assist Executive Director with Verizon mobile accounts. · Support month-end/year-end closing. Exceptional organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills All other Duties As assigned Skills and Abilities: · Attention to detail and strong analytical skills. · Ability to manage & prioritize multiple tasks. · Takes initiative and needs minimal supervision. · Strong data-entry skills. · Office 365 proficiency · Intermediate or Advanced EXCEL skills required. · Strong interpersonal skills. Ability to adapt to changes and effectively multitask in a fast-paced environment Knowledge of patient and employee confidentiality and HIPAA regulations. Qualifications · HS diploma or GED required; associate degree preferred. · 1–2 years of the following experience is required: o AP or accounting experience. o Working in accounting software such as Sage, QuickBooks, etc. o Payroll processing. o Working in payroll software such as Paylocity, ADP, Paychex. Travel: Minimal travel is required. Work Environment: This job operates in a clerical office setting within a confined cubical area. This role routinely involves standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This is largely a sedentary role (sitting 8-9 hours per day); however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files (up to 20 lbs.), open filing cabinets and bend or stand on a stool as necessary. This role requires motion, dexterity, and coordination.
