JOB SUMMARY

This position is responsible for supporting Finance staff in the accurate, complete and timely processing of accounts payable, payroll, and business expenses for the Department of Transportation’s Metro District.
This position is located at district headquarters in Roseville and has the flexibility to work in the office or a hybrid schedule that includes in office and teleworking time. If working a hybrid schedule, the incumbent will be required to make a telework arrangement with their supervisor. The incumbent will be expected to work in the office as determined by policy and discussion with their supervisor.
The Minnesota Department of Transportation does not sponsor applicants for work visas or Optional Practical Training Extensions for STEM Students. Individuals must be legally authorized to work in the US at the start of employment.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Knowledge of basic accounting sufficient to identify and resolve discrepancies in accounting records.
  • Ability to accurately input, verify, and edit electronic data.
  • Skill in using advanced spreadsheets features such as formula creation to manipulate and sort data.
  • Ability to interpret and explain accounting and related fiscal policies, procedures, and practices to customers.
