JOB DUTIES:

The Human Resources department has an exciting opportunity as an Account Clerk Supervisor within our growing Employee Relations team! This position is responsible for the day-to-day administration of the City’s Family Medical Leaves of Absence in compliance with FMLA and any federal and state laws. As an Account Clerk Supervisor, you will work with multiple departments as the main point of contact for all FML leave and absence cases.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Determines and communicates eligibility and available benefits to members.
  • Uses knowledge of federal and state leave regulations and City policies and procedures.
  • Handles a high volume of FML leave of absence cases and intake of daily requests and questions regarding leaves of absence.
  • Serves as primary point of contact for requests or inquiries about FML for 7,000+ employees.
  • Determines which FML documentation are necessary and provides required forms to employees in accordance with deadlines.
  • Reviews completed FML documentation for accuracy and completeness.
  • Determines member eligibility and administers FML leave of absence for members in accordance with federal, state and local regulations, as well as City policies and procedures.
  • Provides quality customer service to include timely and accurate responses to members and all levels of management concerning FML day-to-day requirements and activities.
  • Maintains timely follow-up with Occupational Safety and Health Services to ensure healthcare certification processing (i.e., approval/denial) complies with FMLA federal regulations.
  • Enters, analyzes, trends data and advises management of recommended courses of action.
  • Works cross-functionally with multiple departments about Employee Relations, Occupational Health Services, Benefits, Workers’ Compensation and Payroll to execute City policies.
  • Maintain highly confidential employee records.
