Job Description

  • Work closely with Director of Sales and Director of Marketing to maximise market position of the hotel and hotel targets as outlined in the sales and marketing strategy and hotel strategy and budget documents.
  • Management of an agreed portfolio of accounts across certain markets as allocated in your portfolio.
  • Maintain existing client/account base to ensure business is retained and developed where possible.
  • Ensure penetration of existing accounts to establish greater awareness of hotel and group products/services to maximize sales opportunities.
  • Research new business for Sofitel Sydney Darling Harbour and sign new accounts for the hotel.
  • Identify new business opportunities through any means.
  • Implementation of personal sales call plan with objectives and outcomes adhered to and recorded, including regular follow up on effectiveness to change where appropriate to respond to market business needs
  • Ensure adequate sales time is spent with clients.
  • Providing market intelligence on a regular basis and understanding of competitor strengths weaknesses
  • Communicate challenges and obstacles in an open and transparent way
  • Submit reports on sales activities, competitor information market trends and any new opportunities as required
  • Attend weekly sales meeting in a prepared and participative method
  • Use of the Sales Contact System to accurately record call plan activities, contacts, rate structure and other pertinent client information
  • Advise Hotel on appropriate treatment of hotel VIPs and other visitors to maximise all sales opportunities. Welcome all VIP and deliver an exceptional experience during their stay

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Strong communication skills.
  • 1 - 3 years experience within a similar role.
  • Experience within a luxury hotel is preferred but not required.
  • A high standard of grooming and presentation.
