The Account Executive role is responsible for selling solutions within the banking industry. Key to the role are top of funnel marketing activity & prospecting whilst effectively managing complex sales cycles (approximately 6-12 months) to a successful close.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 10 -15+ years of direct selling experience and a minimum of 5 years banking experience as an Enterprise Account Executive, selling complex technologies to LOB and IT at the enterprise level to customers in the banking industry (Big 5)
  • History of consistent quota achievement
  • Examples of landing new customer logos
  • Strong industry network within customer and partner base
  • Strong job tenure: history of displaying loyalty and perseverance through long, stable job tenure and positive career trajectory
Responsibilities
  • Experience navigating a complex banking industry sales cycle from start to finish in big 5 banks.
  • Success in leveraging internal resources within the larger sales organization, the ability to work cross functionally with the Customer Success (Professional Services) team and externally across customer and partner ecosystems.
  • Strong presentation skills for delivering primarily in-person presentations to senior LOB & IT audiences, highlighting your ability to perform client discovery, communicate ROI and build business value.
  • Experience building relationships and engaging at the C-level within the big 5 banks.
  • The ability to align customer goals and KPIs to the Appian value proposition, helping our customers to accelerate their objectives.
  • To be a trusted advisor to both customers and colleagues and leverage multiple stakeholders throughout complex deals.
  • To understand industry trends to help position against competitors.
  • To operate with urgency, diligence and determination within a collaborative and supportive environment.
  • The willingness to be fully accountable for your territory and to be the leader of your pod; crafting, refining and executing on your territory and account strategies.
  • To have a strategic and focused mindset, with the ability to clearly communicate and lead this vision internally and externally.
  • To have strong sales operations hygiene (Salesforce updates, account and opportunity planning)
