JOB DESCRIPTION

As our first sales hire, you’ll build and own the entire sales process, from prospecting and demoing to negotiating contracts and closing deals, as we build our revenue engine from the ground up. You’ll sell directly to utilities, power traders, and hydropower operators, while working closely with the founders to shape Erode’s go-to-market strategy. This is a unique opportunity to join a venture-backed climate-AI startup at a formative stage and play a key role in scaling our presence across North America and Europe.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

Required:

  • 2–5 years experience in B2B SaaS sales, ideally with technical or data-driven products.
  • Proven ability to close deals and run full sales cycles in a startup or early-stage environment.
  • Strong communication skills, with experience translating technical value into business impact.

Preferred:

  • Experience with technical sales ideally in the energy, utilities, or weather/climate space.
  • Familiarity with forecasting, time series data, and AI technologies.
  • Experience collaborating with product and engineering teams.
  • Exposure to defining early-stage GTM motions (ICP, playbooks, pricing, CRM setup).

Responsibilities

Pipeline Development:

  • Identify and engage high-value prospects (power generators, utilities, trading desks) across North America.
  • Drive outbound via cold outreach, industry events, and referrals.

Solution Selling:

  • Conduct discovery calls to understand forecast pain points and workflow gaps.
  • Deliver live demos of Erode AI’s platform, focusing on custom use cases (e.g., day-ahead bidding for ERCOT, hydropower dispatch forecasting).

Deal Execution:

  • Lead proposals, pricing discussions, and contract negotiations.
  • Work with legal and finance to close deals and hand off onboarding.

Customer Advocacy:

  • Represent the voice of the customer internally—channel feature requests and product feedback to the team.
  • Capture early wins as case studies and testimonials.

Go-to-Market Strategy:

  • Help define ICP, refine messaging, and optimize sales materials (one-pagers, decks, battle cards).
  • Test and iterate on outreach sequences, pricing models, and pilot-to-paid conversion tactics.
