Description
Filed is building the first AI tax preparer trusted by America’s accounting firms. This industry might seem boring, but it’s a $70B backbone of the economy that’s breaking under a talent shortage no one has solved. We’re fixing it, fast. In just 9 months, we’ve hit strong product-market fit, are generating insanely fast-growing, ridiculously sticky revenue, and are backed by top-tier investors. We’re not a tool, we’re the missing workforce firms have been sounding the alarm for. We’re building the future by expanding our already 30-person team with those who want to say ‘I was there when it all started.’ Read more → TechCrunch What we should tell you about the role We’re hiring an Account Executive to fuel our growth and help carry the load of our upcoming high-selling season. You’ll be on the front lines running discovery calls, answering tough product questions, and turning conversations into signed contracts. If you thrive on connecting with people and closing deals, this is your stage. We want someone hungry, coachable, and relentless about chasing pipeline. You can hold a room with charisma but also listen deeply and earn trust. You don’t crumble when a prospect grills you on technical details. You’re the type who reads the room, knows when to push, and knows when to pause. If you come from accounting software or payroll sales, you’ll feel right at home, but it’s not a dealbreaker. Here’s why this is a terrible job This is not a job for someone who likes to coast. We operate week to week with ruthless speed. Sometimes you’ll chase the wrong lead, but more often than not you’ll close the right one. If you need weeks to warm up to prospects, the pipeline will pass you by. We expect you to make calls, run demos, and keep your CRM pristine, all without being asked nor micro-managed. You’ll be operating at the intersection of complex tax logic, skeptical buyers, and a product category most people don’t even realize is possible. There are no perfect scripts. Just judgment calls, pushback, and constant input from every direction. Here’s why it’s the best career choice you’ll make We’re selling what tax pros call impossible—a product that feels like a missing teammate, not just another piece of software. We run reviews every 4 months, with total transparency around pay, performance, and progress. You’ll be paid above market, earn equity that grows fast, and unlock uncapped commission upside. You’ll close deals because firms need this, not because you’re forcing it down their throats. You’ll talk to customers weekly, moving opportunities from discovery to contract with ownership end to end. We’ll tell you the targets. How you hit them is on you. That comes from immersion, curiosity, and care. What you’ll be responsible for Running discovery calls with prospective clients Handling technical calls when clients dig into tax-related questions Making outbound calls when meetings aren’t booked Sending contracts and pushing deals over the finish line Tracking every opportunity in the CRM with impeccable data hygiene Your hard skillset Prior sales experience Strong CRM skills Familiarity with accounting or tax software is a big plus CPA background? That earns extra points Your soft skillset Hunger and ambition - you chase goals like your life depends on it Coachability - you take feedback and run with it Rapport building - you make people feel comfortable fast Grit - you handle rejection and keep dialing The process First call with Sinan, for an initial check Skill discovery interview with Regan, to deep-dive into everything sales Final conversation with Ralph, your to-be manager, to seal the deal We move fast, don’t expect a drawn-out process.
Responsibilities
You will run discovery calls with prospective clients and handle technical inquiries related to tax. Your role involves making outbound calls, sending contracts, and ensuring accurate tracking of opportunities in the CRM.
