Job Title: Account Executive Location: (Remote) Department/Group: Gradient Mortgage Capital LLC/Sales Travel Required: None Job Status: Exempt Position Type: Full-Time, Regular Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 9:00AM – 5:00PM ET Reports To: VP – Regional Sales Manager Northeast SUMMARY Gradient Mortgage Capital is seeking an ambitious and results-driven Account Executive to develop and manage client relationships while driving new business growth. This role is responsible for building a strong personal book of business, promoting the company’s mortgage products and services, and consistently meeting or exceeding sales targets. The ideal candidate is a motivated self-starter with strong prospecting skills, a consultative sales approach, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, performance-driven environment. Gradient Mortgage Capital is a wholesale mortgage banking platform specializing in Small Balance Commercial Real Estate (SBCRE) and Investor Residential DSCR lending. We work directly with mortgage brokers and bankers — not consumers — to originate business-purpose loans for real estate investors nationwide. Our financing focuses on income-producing properties such as rental portfolios, multifamily, mixed-use, and other commercial assets. Loans are primarily underwritten based on property cash flow, deal structure, and investor experience, rather than traditional owner-occupied income qualification. ABOUT THE ROLE Our Account Executives operate in a technical wholesale lending environment where success comes from becoming a trusted lending resource to mortgage brokers and bankers. In this role, the Account Executive is expected to: * Build and manage relationships with mortgage brokers and bankers * Review scenarios and structure deals prior to submission * Understand DSCR and commercial underwriting concepts (LTV, cash flow, property types) * Educate partners on guidelines and execution strategy * Work directly with underwriting and operations to close loans * Generate repeat production through expertise and responsiveness Our sales cycle is consultative and credit-driven, not transactional. Essential Duties and Responsibilities * Develop, grow, and manage a personal book of business by identifying, prospecting, and onboarding new clients. * Build and maintain strong client relationships through consistent communication, responsiveness, and high-quality service. * Promote and sell the company’s mortgage programs and services within an assigned territory. * Develop and execute effective sales strategies to achieve individual production goals and drive revenue growth. * Maintain an active and accurate sales pipeline, ensuring timely follow-up and progression of opportunities. * Accurately track and report all sales activity, pipeline updates, and client interactions in the company’s CRM system. * Collaborate with the Vice President, Regional Sales Manager, and internal teams to align efforts and meet production objectives. * Qualify inbound leads and prospects through phone, email, and virtual communication channels. * Conduct outbound prospecting, including cold calling and relationship-based outreach, to generate new opportunities. * Present company products, programs, and value propositions during virtual and in-person client meetings. * Organize and participate in regular client meetings to ensure satisfaction and identify opportunities for growth. * Attend industry events, conferences, and trade shows as needed to expand the company’s professional network. * Participate in weekly sales meetings and one-on-one meetings with management. * Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS * Strong sales, negotiation, and closing skills with a proven ability to build lasting client relationships. * Excellent verbal and written communication skills. * Highly organized with strong time-management and follow-up abilities. * Self-motivated, results-oriented, and capable of working independently. * Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced sales environment. * Proficiency with CRM systems and sales productivity tools. * Knowledge of mortgage products, lending processes, and industry terminology preferred. * Professional demeanor with strong presentation and interpersonal skills.Strong leadership, coaching, and people management skills with experience building and scaling sales teams. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE * Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Marketing, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience. * Minimum of 2–5 years of experience in mortgage sales, financial services sales, or a related field preferred. * Demonstrated success in prospecting, pipeline management, and achieving sales targets. * Demonstrated success recruiting, managing, and developing sales professionals.
