Slingshot Transportation Inc. is expanding again! We have an exciting new opportunity for Business Development Manager to join our operations team at the Calgary AB terminal.
COMPENSATION: TO BE NEGOTIATED, MUST HAVE A BOOK OF BUSINESS
Slingshot Transportation, Inc. is an asset-based trucking and logistics company with many years of proven success and locations throughout North America.

We have a fantastic team of seasoned logistics professionals and are currently looking for a dynamic Business Development Manager to provide continued growth in our asset and 3PL divisions.
This successful candidate must be highly self-motivated with a positive attitude and whose personal standards meet those of Slingshot. It is important that the successful candidate bring with them a proven sales record and willing to share and develop strategies to increase our customer base and generate revenue. Strong negotiation skills are imperative.
Compensation for this role is negotiated based on the individuals’ annual sales and ability to support their own logistics needs.
This is a hybrid role meaning you will be working a blend of in office, on the road as well the ability to work from home occasionally.

WE ARE LOOKING FOR THE FOLLOWING SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES:
· Passion for sales and logistics
· Strong negotiation skills
· Experience in growing revenue and achieving revenue targets.
· Proven experience in lead generation and sales.
· Working knowledge in the transportation industry and/or freight brokering.
· Knowledge of Industry Rules and Regulations
· Ability to work in a team environment in high pressure situations.
· Strong written and oral communication skills are essential
· Ability to listen, speak and communicate effectively, often in some state of distress.
· High degree of proficiency in MS Excel and MS Word.
· Strong analytical, prioritizing, multitasking, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
· Ability to work in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment.
· Strong leadership and customer service skills
· Ability to provide after-hours and weekend support.
· Willingness to travel as required.
· Must have reliable transportation.

· Achieve growth and hit sales targets by successfully managing and forecasting sales.
· Provide operational support including customer service, carrier sourcing, load booking and tracking.
· Assessing market conditions and identifying opportunities
· Ensure proper sourcing of carriers, maintain mutually beneficial carrier/broker relationships, and meet pickup and delivery requirements in a timely fashion.
· Ensure compliance with company and industry policies and procedures.
· Work with the General Manager, Canada to develop forecast, financial objectives, and business plans.
