Account Manager Southwest, Ontario Full-Time Reference Number: CAN-ON-ACT-154-281025 ABOUT THE ROLE Doman Building Materials is an exciting place to work as an Account Manager. Operating in every province throughout Canada, the Account Manager will support our customers in the Southwestern Ontario region. As a key member of our sales team, you will represent all Doman’s product lines. You will maintain and develop existing accounts, promote manufacturers’ programs, and source new business opportunities. ABOUT YOU You have a passion for maintaining productive relationships with retailers and specifiers. Understanding your customers’ needs and bringing them industry knowledge is key to your success in this position. You are comfortable having technical product conversations with customers. You combine your excellent presentation skills and prior outside sales experience to drive growth in your territory. You enjoy partnering with manufacturers’ representatives to develop and implement strategic growth in each of the product lines. You are diligent with your call planning to ensure you are optimizing time with customers. Superior communication skills, a technical aptitude, and knowledge of the building material sector is your winning combination. You also see the glass as half full, not half empty. If this describes you, check us out! SKILLS YOU NEED TO HAVE Strong experience building relationships with and selling to senior-level managers, owners, contract sellers, and buying decision makers. Understand the sales activities that are revenue generating and non-revenue generating. Strong negotiation, problem-solving, and deal structuring skills. Maintain a positive and enthusiastic attitude even in adverse situations. ADDITIONAL SKILLS THAT ARE GOOD TO HAVE Building industry or trade experience. High level understanding of construction and building methods. Excellent communication skills at a capacity to influence sales, in person and over the phone, with customers at various levels. Able to lift up to 50 lbs or 23 kg occasionally to refresh and maintain product displays. EDUCATION High school diploma is a minimum requirement. Post secondary education in business or building industry is preferred. Formal sales training is an asset.
