Our client has operated in Australia for more than 90 years. National reach, a well-backed brand, and a name built on getting the technical side right. The machine control part of the business is growing fast and they need someone in Victoria to run with it.

Machine control is the technology fitted to excavators, dozers and graders that shows the operator exactly where the blade or bucket is, down to the millimetre. It's changing the way earthworks get delivered, and the contractors picking it up early are the ones winning more work. Your job is being in front of those contractors.

What you'll be doing

• Running your own NSW territory across civil and construction
• Getting in with earthmoving contractors, civil builders and plant managers, then keeping those relationships strong
• Running site demos in front of the people who'll actually operate the gear
• Prospecting your own leads and driving them from first call to signed deal
• Working with the internal technical team so the setup matches the job
• Showing up at industry events and trade shows and staying visible in the market

This is a proper field role. Expect most weeks in the car and on sites. The office is there when it helps, not because someone wants you sitting in it.

What we're looking for

You don't need to have sold machine control specifically. What matters is that you've been around construction machinery enough to understand the world and the customers. Backgrounds we're open to include:

• Earthmoving or heavy equipment sales, hire or dealership reps
• Plant and equipment BDMs
• Parts or service specialists who know the machines inside out and want to step into sales
• Surveyors keen to get off the tools and put that knowledge to work commercially
• Anyone selling technology or attachments into civil and construction
• Any exposure to machine control brands of the likes of Trimble, Leica, Topcon or similar is highly desirable, though not essential.

Experience aside, we want someone who earns trust quickly, sells on performance rather than price, and runs their own week without constant follow up. You'll need a driver's licence and you'll need to be comfortable travelling around Victoria.
