Job Description :
Responsible for the day-to-day management of assigned account(s). Manages/coordinates Client projects from planning to completion. May serve as the daily contact between the Ageny and the Client. Effectively executes strategies, problem-solves, and develops solid business relationships. Provides Client service support.
At Havas, the Account Manager (AM) will work closely with the Senior Account Director (SAD) and Business Director (BD) to lead the day-to-day operations for a number of clients.
Our Client Account Teams are led by a BD, who is responsible for leading the overall communications strategy and implementation process for clients and managing workloads to ensure pressure points are shared equitably within the team.

As an Account Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring that all briefs are answered comprehensively and to an agreed timeline, and be across the detail of each campaign. You will manage input from clients’ creative partners to ensure we are developing high quality ideas and following the media implementation process across all interactive channels. You will understand your client’s business’. You are expected to work closely with the specialist teams to provide the best services for your client patch. Proactivity is important and you’re required to share relevant opportunities with key client leads, and drive creative thinking and inspiration.
When required you will also be supporting on new business pitches.
The role requires a considered approach, a passion for great work and a desire to create something genuinely different. Whilst the below details your main responsibilities, you will be required to take on other projects and champion tools, systems and processes as and when they are identified by the BD. It’s hard for us to predict what’s around the corner so we require a willingness to adapt and muck in as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
Client & Account Management:
Overall servicing and day-to-day operations
- The clients you will work on are vitally important to the agency and we want to ensure these relationships continue with sufficient energy and quality account management. This is a key part of your role as well as ensuring that other Havas teams (products) deliver to expectations.
- Familiarise yourself with the specific client KPI’s and deliverables and work with the SAD to ensure they are delivered and exceeded.
- Attend internal/external meetings and WIPs with brand managers/directors and internal teams as required and that all relevant action items are followed up and responded to within agreed timelines.
- Fulfilling administrative duties with support from the Communications team including plan maintenance, invoicing & budget reconciliation, meeting co-ordination and the processing of day-to-day activity, requests and enquiries from assigned brand teams.
- Management of specialist teams including PICS, Programmatic, Social and Search traders so they provide you with all the information required to collate for the client
- Delivery against client benchmarks and strict adherence to financial processes are crucial to your role.
- Leading all conversations with clients around planning, reporting, implementation, and market conditions.
- Responsibility for campaign creation, delivery, booking trafficking, reporting and optimisation. Ensuring campaigns deliver to forecasted KPI’s.

Media Planning & Campaign Implementation
- Analysis of media/consumer information & resources to draw relevant insights to determine effective channel mix/budget splits.
- Develop detailed media plans to ensure translation of approved channel strategy, liaise with media owners to negotiate strong rate positions, premium formats and overall added value to inform the campaign outputs.
- Ensure that media plans are kept up-to-date with complete accuracy. Constantly monitor and track activity across all channels to ensure all planned & agreed campaign goals are being met (and exceeded) where possible.
- Keep media owners accountable for any under deliveries and negotiate makegoods to balance short falls.
Developing skills in packaging up and selling work to clients (and in pitches)
- Build capabilities in logically delivering arguments and clearly/simply selling ideas. The writing of a clear strategy, knowing what insights help frame our story and what is just interesting or telling a client what they already know. Writing a strategy which gives clients what they need vs lighthouse ideas. A big focus on bringing to life their potential customers’ media world.
- Represent the most current thinking across all channels. Specifically, the ‘why’ people display emerging behaviours and engage with emerging channels (not just the ‘how’) and translating these insights into grounded but provocative ideas.
Deliver innovation for your clients
- The businesses we have brought in have appointed Havas Media based on our promise of innovation. We must deliver communication innovation and you will be required to work closely with the GBD, AD and the Strategy team to deliver this. As a relatively new player in the Australian media agency landscape we need to punch above our weight and let our work do the talking. There is an immediate and urgent need to create work that showcases Havas as a modern, future thinking agency.
- Build and maintain direct relationships with key publishers & companies with the aim of keeping a step ahead of new developments, first to market opportunities and partnerships relevant to our clients.
Organic growth for your clients (based on collaboration with the Strategy, Content, Activations & product teams)
- Identification of opportunities to monetise existing and additional products.
- The development of proactive strategies and ideas for identified clients.
- Take a collaborative approach and establish productive, respectful working relationships with internal teams.
Management of direct reports
- Management of the output and development of direct reports is crucial to success in this management role
- Demonstrating clear leadership, not just of tasks, but of people and ensuring an ongoing priority of the development of peers and colleagues is crucial.

Financial Management
Financial Management • Ensure disciplined tracking & reconciliation of client expenditure with a commitment to total accuracy when dealing with company finances and client budgets.
- Troubleshoot any billing issues on client accounts.
- Ensure that all proforma invoices are approved to deadline with complete confidence in accuracy.
- Ensure that all account queries are responded to and resolved with urgency.
- Ensure budget reconciliation documents are kept up to date and supplied accurately when requested
- Responsible for contributing to forecasting documents when requested

Salary range: $80,000 - $90,000 inclusive superannuation
