Job Description Summary :
The role of the Account Manager will be responsible for leading key accounts in the media team, responsible for developing strategies to deliver business growth, planning campaigns across a variety of media channels and reporting back on several success metrics throughout a series of internal and external WIPs. They will be responsible for the day-to-day account management across clients and will lead the client relationship alongside the Account Director to ensure we are always delivering optimal performance and taking advantage of all new media opportunities.

As the deputy to the Account Director on your set of accounts, the Account Manager will play a supportive role in attaining this ambition.
Role Responsibilities:
Leading the implementational planning and buying for your clients using the VERGE planning process (as appropriate) Delivering total client satisfaction across the planning, buying and communication of the Frontier day-to-day relationship Developing a deep understanding of your client’s media objectives and delivery The day-to-day project management of the various briefs / projects and manage the efficient implementation (planning and buying). Establishing strong working relationships with external partner agencies such as creative, PR or inhouse media teams.
Role in Detail
Client relationship management
- Build strong professional relationships with your clients
- Provide excellent personal service to meet clients’ needs
- Respond to clients requests in a timely manner
- Deliver beyond clients expectations
Management of the implementational planning process
Key client contact in the implementation planning process including:
- Review & interrogate client briefs.
- Presentation of detailed communications recommendations
- Develop strategic recommendations in response to brief, designed to deliver on key client objectives and KPIs defined.
- Meeting deadlines agreed on and managing client expectations in regard to media plan development.
- Work with publishers and internal stakeholders to build detailed media plans, to a high standard.
- Create presentations to step clients through your recommendations supporting the media plan
- Regularly source proactive opportunities in markets for your clients, based on your knowledge of their objectives
- Manage the collation and reporting of competitive data
- Respond to Global/regional reporting requests on International clients
- Management of the delivery and upkeep of all relevant reporting systems and templates
Management of media buying and delivery of all communication performance goals
- Preparation of briefing materials
- Preparation of negotiation strategies
- Negotiation of campaigns to deliver best in market media rates
- Provide rationale back to the Account Director and / or Heads of department.
- Preparation and distribution of finalised arrangements to client
- Ensuring that all markets are bought as per the approved media plan
- Oversee exchange of creative material with creative agencies
- Complete DUB dispatch form when required, alongside the executive
- Buying reports are delivered accurately, timely and to brief
- Ensuring all bookings are entered into Spectra before invoicing deadline
- Post campaign reporting that quantifies the value of the media strategy
- Management of contracts for annual or major deals
Finance
- Provide budget forecast figures (as requested) for your respective client/s
- Manage the account query process and ensure queries are answered with supporting documentation. All queries must be signed off before passing back to Finance
- Load all campaigns into BCC (financial management system) and ensure accurate and timely management of client invoicing each month
- Ensure media proformas are checked correctly and signed off by Account Director
Effective management and leadership of any direct reports
- Timely performance reviews and a focus on coaching and developing others
- Management of team to deliver relevant campaign administration including media owners briefs, contract tracking, budget controls
- Clear delegation and clarity when it comes to all basic tasks so that the Account Manager is focusing on campaign direction, management and deliverables.
Managing delivery of weekly/fortnightly/monthly/ad hoc campaign results
- Reporting and analysis for clients including commentary and insight along with Account Executives
- Inputs for APEX reporting
Develop and grow media relationships.
- Regular meetings with media owners. Keep abreast of industry and general news regarding client’s business and industry. Be proactive in sharing these with the client
- Keep up to date with new media opportunities and any relevant changes in media offerings from suppliers
- Provide detailed briefings using the media owner briefing process
- Always give prompt feedback on proposals whether successful or not using the media owner feedback process.
Role Measurement
Product-driven measures
- Work with the Account Director in creation of the media strategy and plan
- Innovation, creativity and evolution of the media strategy throughout the planning and implementation phases
- Consistently document any added value negotiated as part of contracts as well as any elements delivered over and above contractual arrangements
Client relationship measures
- Client satisfaction surveys.
- Integration with other teams / units / agencies / third parties xx
Internal relationship measures
- 360° review performance versus goals set in Performance Development plans (PDP’s)
- Team player & active involvement in developing executive and assistant as appropriate.
