QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, or related field required.
Experience: Minimum 1 year in healthcare marketing or related field. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and basic office equipment.
Licensure/Certification: Must possess a valid Driver’s License
Knowledge: Strong written and oral skills, including advanced presentation skills. Functioning knowledge of social media platforms and tools. Prefer knowledge of the Alabama behavioral health marketplace, insurance plans, target markets and referral sources, psychiatric and chemical dependency treatment, and age-specific programming. Must possess demonstrated superior leadership abilities and excellent written and oral communication skills; knowledge of and skills in application of marketing principles including product, placement, pricing and promotion as well as management of sales, advertising, social media, online presence and, public relations resources; creativity and flexibility; skills in data collection and analysis, interpretation, application and, evaluation; strategic planning skills; record of adherence to deadlines; customer service skills; teaching or training skills; willingness to travel, including overnight travel as required.

Responsibilities
  • Successfully assesses and communicates the outcome to referral source, client, family, and unit; Successfully communicates referral source issues to administration.
  • Implements solutions to and promotes cooperation among all parties to meet customers’ needs as revealed by effective probing; Demonstrates effective closing skills.
  • Facilitates positive and accurate communication. Encourages cooperation and utilizes problem solving skills to build and secure relationships between the hospital, the referral source, the patient, their family, and the community. Social media, traditional media, photography, mailers, in person workshops, etc, are all typical forms of communication and community outreach, but other forms may be utilized based on the situation as this is not an all-inclusive list.
  • Demonstrates skills in building initial rapport with clients; Makes set number of contacts based on market potential, distance, and productivity. Contact expectations: averaging 8 contacts per day.
  • Demonstrates skills in identifying and building a strategic marketing plan to target the most viable potential referral sources within particular target market(s); effectively incorporates relevant research findings (e.g. demographics, referral patterns) in identifying contacts; Stays updated on program information regularly, asking appropriate questions and communicating interests or concerns of referral sources.
  • Provides useful procedural suggestions to supervisor regarding referral source communication, assessments, and marketing activities that result in effective referral development
  • Utilizes administrative and clinical staff in making calls, including facilitating contact, probing for information, procuring commitments, verifying call viability, and following-up on contacts and referral grievances, assessment requests
  • Ability to speak in public, coordinate workshops and represent in a professional manner; Joins and participates in local organizations that support efforts within particular target markets.
  • Performs other duties as assigned
    Environmental Conditions: Possible exposure to psychiatric patients who may exhibit violent/aggressive behavior; potential exposure to communicable diseases, blood/body fluids and other hazardous waste.
