POSITION SUMMARY:

This role is ideal for a motivated professional seeking a dynamic career in sales and account management within the specialty ingredients industry. The Account Manager will drive business growth by developing and executing sales strategies, managing key accounts, and expanding market presence in California. This includes engaging with the Dietary Supplement, Functional Food & Beverage, and Food Fortification sectors.
The successful candidate will provide technical expertise, market insights, and solutions-oriented strategies to new and existing clients while identifying key areas for expansion. This role requires strong relationship-building skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, evolving environment.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:

Required:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Nutrition, Food Science, or a related technical field (MBA preferred).
  • Experience: 5-7 years of sales experience in specialty ingredients, dietary supplements, food & beverage, human nutrition, or pharmaceuticals.
  • Industry Network: Established network including brands and contract manufacturers in Specialty Ingredients, Food & Beverage, and Dietary Supplement sectors.
  • Skills:
  • Strong sales and negotiation skills with the ability to develop compelling strategies.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building abilities.
  • Self-motivated and results-driven with a track record of meeting and exceeding sales targets.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills focused on identifying market opportunities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, CRM tools, and other business-related software.
  • Travel Requirement: Willingness to travel up to 40% within California.
Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement sales plans for the Minerals & Nutrients sector to drive revenue growth.
  • Provide technical support and product knowledge on Albion® Minerals, VitaCholine®, microencapsulated nutrients (Vitashure®), K2Vital®, and OptiMSM®.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships to enhance customer loyalty.
  • Identify and convert new business opportunities while strengthening relationships with existing accounts.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support strategic sales initiatives and business development.
  • Monitor market trends, competitive activity, and economic indicators to adjust strategies accordingly.
  • Represent the company at key industry trade events, including IFT, NIA-West, NNFA, NP-Expo West, BevNet, and ABA.
  • Prepare and present sales reports, forecasts, and progress updates to senior management.
  • Adhere to company policies and safety standards while maintaining a strong commitment to workplace safety.
