POSITION SUMMARY

The Account Manager will achieve significant long-term profitable sales growth and customer satisfaction for Tier Level assigned accounts, in alignment with automotive OEM, and targeted prospects. This position

EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or related field
  • 5 years of automotive sales, application engineering or program management experience
  • Experience with automotive OEMs, Tier 1 suppliers, and automotive fastener/component industries
  • Strong analytical skills and experience in preparing proposals and sales forecasts.
  • Hands-on, highly motivated, results-oriented, and driven with a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Exceptional organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills, both oral and written
  • Must be a team-oriented professional who can manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • High level of commitment, sound judgment, great follow-through, and initiative
  • Capable of meeting deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy and professional demeanor.
  • A demonstrated ability to work well in a team environment, to be proactive, and to work independently of day-to-day supervision.
  • Experience with CRM systems and sales analytics tools
  • MRP experience; JDE preferred.
Responsibilities
  • Manage and maintain all assigned accounts, identify future business opportunities and develop strong customer relationships.
  • Quote new business and coordinate fulfillment of customer requirements; prepare detailed quotes, negotiate pricing, and secure PO.
  • Manage and support existing customers by meeting all customer quoting requests; Submit and maintain all customer specific commercial documents.
  • Maintain and update company pricing record documents, logs, forecasts and any other commercial records, as needed.
  • Manage customers open issues relating to PO’s (ensure they are issued, received, billed) pricing, product availability, product quality, and past dues.
  • Build professional relationships and establish an ongoing line of communication with customers, superiors, peers, subordinates, suppliers, etc., to facilitate the achievement of performance standards.
  • Conduct research for new business opportunities; monitor the automotive market to be fully informed of developments, changes, acquisitions, etc. and its impact on our customers and new business development initiatives.
  • Implement customer-specific sales forecasting activities; drive account mining and farming activities within existing customers to identify new service lines and cross-sell opportunities.
  • Visit customers and gather information including new business opportunities.
  • Prepare presentation materials for customers per their request.
  • Travel to customer locations, plants, and supplier locations as necessary to develop and maintain customer relations.
  • Collaborate with global teams to support the global customer requirements.
  • Work with manufacturing support personnel on new and existing product process issues to understand and maintain a knowledge base for both existing and potential products.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
