We support the Australian manufacturing industry by providing quality flexible films and specialty resins around the country and provide technical application advice and exceptional customer service.

About the role

You will develop and grow a portfolio of customers in the Specialty Resins & Films category; you are challenged to develop your customer base and identify new opportunities. Specialty Resins has been identified as a key growth area for Primaplas, and we are committed to investing in this high value area. This role is based in our Melbourne office and will report to our Sydney-based National Sales Manager – Flexible Films & Specialty Resins.

• Develop a pipeline of new business opportunities and assist in developing our growth strategy in Specialty Resins & Films.
• Develop a deep understanding of market segments, customers and product applications and develop opportunities to grow our share and margins
• Build close working relationships with customers to produce profitable results
• Have an excellent technical understanding of products offered and various applications
• Champion products offered and develop a pipeline for cross selling
• Visit customers regularly to understand their business and be able to serve them best
• Manage existing customers and their needs with monthly orders
• Work closely with customers to become part of their supply chain. Manage customer’s stock to avoid ageing stock and stock out issues
• Manage customer credit risk, working with Credit to ensure insurance coverage and following up payments each month and ensure up to date
• Work with the Logistics & Operations team to ensure excellent customer service through to delivery
• Work closely with customers and suppliers to understand and manage any product quality issues that arise and resolve customer complaints

What we are looking for

A person who thrives in sales and developing business and has a strong record in identifying and growing new business opportunities. Strong polymer industry background is essential, with a focus on engineering polymer and technical capability. A tertiary degree in Chemical Engineering or Science is advantageous. 5-10 years’ experience in the polymer industry required. Interstate travel may be required.

Salary commensurate with experience.

Office based in Glen Iris, Melbourne.

Work-from-home hybrid arrangement available after probation period (6 months).

KPI bonus program to begin after probation period.
