We are currently seeking a full-time Account Manager to manage a variety of customer accounts
The successful candidate will be an integral part of the Sales and Marketing team, managing a variety of customer accounts. with specific focus on professional communication with our customer base using telephone, email and in-person meetings as required.
Candidates for this role should be highly computer literate, have excellent communication skills, meticulous attention to detail and previous experience of working in an office environment.
The key roles and duties will include: -
- Be a first point of contact for allocated customers.
- Preparing and negotiating quotations for customers, based on established pricing guidelines and product specifications.
- Ensuring competitiveness and profitability in an accurate and professional format.
- Provision of specific client sales forecast and input into the annual and monthly sales forecast, including the monthly KPI.
- Administration of client accounts.
- Preparation of sales reports for presentation to clients and internal management.
- Liaising with external clients in a professional manner, answering queries, providing necessary assistance where required.
- Interpret and facilitate customer requirements through working closely with other departments ensuring effective communication internally and externally.
- Maintaining accurate records of sales transactions ensuring all data is organised to comply with company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Assisting with the organisation of exhibitions, industry events, client meetings and attending exhibitions with other members of the Sales team where necessary.
- Accurate data entry, updating spreadsheets and databases to ensure smooth delivery of products.
- Managing incoming telephone calls and emails and directing callers to the relevant department where necessary.
- Processing sales orders using Sage 200 and providing support to members of the Customer Service team when necessary.
- Supporting the marketing team in the administration and management of social media channels, keeping on brand with the professional industry standards.
- Assist with new product introduction and mobilisation of projects.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS, EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- Meticulous attention to detail and awareness of sales procedures.
- 2 – 3 years’ experience in a sales/customer service role, preferably within a manufacturing environmenttail and awareness of sales procedures.
- Ability to plan and prioritise workload effectively.
- Ability to work on own initiative to solve problems.
- Confident communicator, with the ability to speak to customers and address an audience in a polite and professional manner.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office packages including Word/Excel/Outlook.
- Grade C/Level 5, equivalent or above in GCSE Maths and English.
- Methodical approach to data entry.
- Adaptability and willingness to learn new systems and processes.
- Ability to work within a close team setting and take direction from others, collaborating effectively.
- Be able to interpret details from internal technical and commercial meetings
- Be resilient.
- Fault finding & analytical skills.
- Commercially aware.
DESIRABLE SKILLS, EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- Knowledge of QT-9 document management system.
- Experience within the Rail Industry.
- Knowledge of Sage 200.
