National R&D Inc. is a leading integrated consulting services firm in Canada. We specialize in offering our clients support in accounting, corporate tax, personal tax, and R&D tax advisory services.
We are currently looking for a highly innovative Inside Sales professional who carries an entrepreneurial spirit and takes charge to deliver first-rate consulting services to our clients. We offer an excellent opportunity for a talented Specialist to play a key role in our rapidly growing and dynamic SR&ED practice. Either individually or as part of a team, you will be interacting regularly with clients at the forefront of technology.

EDUCATION:

  • University degree or diploma in Business, Management, Accounting, or related disciplines.

EXPERIENCE:

  • 1 to 2 years experience in Sales Accounts Management.
  • Previous experience or familiarity with the SR&ED program would be an asset.
  • Strong interpersonal skills coupled with the ability to develop and foster relationships.
  • Very strong English verbal, written, and documentation skills required
  • Excellent managerial skills
  • Strong MS Office skills including MS Excel, MS Word, etc.
  • Strong typing skills are an asset.
  • Strong organizational skills, a demonstrated ability to lead
  • Experience supporting 24/7 operations
  • Ability to work in team environment
  • Experience in a fast paced tax accounting office
  • Successful clearance of criminal record check
  • Successful clearance of Controlled Goods (CG)

Responsibilities

PRIMARY DUTIES AS ACCOUNT MANAGER – SR&ED:

  • Assist in the building of National’s consulting branches with a primary focus on corporate accounting, tax return preparation, and SR&ED tax credit.
  • Work with senior management to perform client outreach (cold calling, warm calling, etc), send proposals, and close sales.
  • Meet with clients and prospective clients; over the phone, on video, and in-person.
  • Travel to client sites to deliver presentations, obtain signed documents, and close sales deals.
  • Develop relationships, strategies and processes to help coordinate R&D Tax efforts on a corporate level.
  • Follow up on sales leads; in-person, over the phone, over video, and or over email.
  • Attend sourcing events such as: Trade Shows and Business Networking Events.
  • Develop a process to raise the profile and understanding of the SR&ED process in order to maximize the claims made by a client.
  • Perform follow-up to clients and prospects to ensure that timelines are met and deadlines are kept.
  • Assist with scheduling meetings with new clients and the technical team.
  • Assist with collections from delinquent clients by performing outreach and follow up as required.
  • Participate in regular meetings and discussions with the management team on a variety of topics.

SR&ED Work

  • Keep abreast of changes in the SR&ED program.
  • Maintain SR&ED procedures with the organization.

General

  • Organize, prepare, and clearly present information to others and respond to their questions in one-on-one and group situations.
  • Ensure that all business activities are performed with the highest ethical standards and in compliance with the company Code of Business Conduct.
  • Adhere to all health and safety rules and procedures.

  • Keep abreast of current and emerging income tax developments .
  • Any and all duties as assigned within the scope of expertise.
  • Prepare professional, detailed, and accurate correspondence.
  • Provide creative solutions to problems and develop practical plans for their completion.
  • Document and track time as per company procedures.
  • Participate in government audits.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES AS SR&ED SPECIALIST – REVIEWS COORDINATOR:

  • Prepare and review R&D Tax technical documentation as specified by Government guidelines.
  • Coordinate and prepare audit packages, tax return packages, Request for Information (RFIs), Notice of Objections (NoO), Notice of Appeals (NoApp), Book of Documents (BoDs), Book of Authorities (BoAuth), etc.
  • Act as a principal point of contact for clients, CRA auditors, and internal consultants while directing their requests appropriately
  • Use various accounting software to perform bookkeeping services
  • Data entry, data collection and organization
  • Manage daily office procedures and provide administrative services
  • Ensuring that e-mails are sent and documentation is received from clients and accountants
  • Coordinate and process incoming and outgoing mail
  • Document control – scanning and storage of all internal documents
  • Assist with the creation and preparation of sales, marketing and promotional material as well as request for proposal submissions
