Porter Plant are a leader and recognised name in the plant and equipment hire industry for more than 30 years. With branches in 3 states and equipment spread over 5 states, we are looking for our next Accounts Receivable Officer to take ownership of the function.

The Opportunity

Reporting to the Financial Accounting and Reporting Manager, you will be responsible for Porter Plant’s accounts receivable function, in particular:

• Managing debtors’ collections ensuring adherence to trading terms

• Working with customers & internal stakeholders to resolve customer queries

• Communicating effectively internally and externally with co-workers and customers

• Understanding the legal process for recovering outstanding debts

• Run monthly Credit Meetings, ensuring key stakeholders are informed of any collection issues

• Evaluate the creditworthiness of new and existing customers

• Maintain accurate record keeping of all activities undertaken

• Reconciliation and allocation of incoming receipts

• Ensuring compliance to company policies and procedures

About You

• Have minimum 2-3 years experience as an AR Officer/Credit Manager

• Ability to deal with large corporates to smaller customers

• Previous experience in a medium to large organisation

• Have proven experience with all activities listed above

• Have well developed communication skills
