ABOUT THE TEAM

At SumUp, we’ve built our success on helping micro and small merchants thrive. As our merchant base grows in volume and complexity, we’re scaling a dedicated Account Management function for High-Value Merchants (HVMs).
This team manages the post-sales relationship with some of our most strategic merchants, acting as trusted advisors focused on retention, commercial growth, and multi-product adoption. You’ll work closely with leading businesses in Italy, spanning diverse sectors such as retail, hospitality, wellness, and more.
We’re looking for commercially driven, relationship-oriented professionals ready to drive value, uncover opportunities, and contribute to long-term merchant success.

Responsibilities

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Manage a portfolio of High-Value Merchants in Italy
  • Build long-term relationships with key decision-makers and business owners
  • Conduct structured Business Reviews to assess performance, unlock insights, and identify areas for growth
  • Lead commercial conversations focused on business value and product adoption
  • Identify and close cross-sell and upsell opportunities
  • Monitor merchant health using tools like Salesforce and Tableau, and act proactively on churn signals
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Product, Support, and Operations to improve the overall merchant experience
  • Play a key role in shaping how SumUp supports its largest and most complex merchants

YOU’LL BE GREAT FOR THIS ROLE IF

  • You have 2–4 years of experience in Account Management, Customer Success, or B2B commercial roles (experience in a fintech environment is a plus)
  • You’re confident managing strategic clients and leading high-impact conversations
  • You approach relationships with a consultative mindset, aiming to solve problems and drive mutual value
  • You’re comfortable using data to inform decisions and identify commercial opportunities
  • You thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative, and international environment
  • You’re fluent in English and Italian
